Religion, a weapon, wielded with might,
A tool of control in the rulers' sight.
To question the divine, a risky affair,
Crusades, inquisition, shadows to despair.
Faith, a cloak, veils questioning minds,
Demonized skeptics, an age-old ploy,
From rituals to festivals, the peons abide,
A controlled existence, in religion's guide.
Slavery, racism, wars' bitter wine,
Backed by faith, a sinister design.
Dark ages' echoes, a warning bell,
A future dominated by a faith-fueled spell.
Marriage sanctified, a holy decree,
Taxing holiness, a religious fee.
Religion, a business, a duping scheme,
A hierarchy's rule, a leader's dream.
As humans crave warm comfort over cold reality,
The majority may shun this truth's totality.
Religion, a tool, a wielder's creation,
A means of control, a societal foundation.
