Penthesilea, Amazon queen,

In battle fierce, in demeanor keen.

Born of war, Ares' own seed,

Otrera's lineage, strength her creed.

To Troy's defense, her heart did bind,

Leaving haunted past behind.

A mistake so grave, a shadow upon her soul,

She sought redemption where the war drums roll.

Ajax stood, yet met his match,

In her, the Greeks met their dispatch.

Then came Achilles, swift and bold,

Their clash was fierce, blood dripped on gold.

And only in death, by Aphrodite blessed,

Did her beauty, leave him obsessed.

In her eyes, a fleeting glance,

A tragic, fateful, love's mischance.

Achilles wept, his heart aflame,

For the warrior dame, divine her name.

For Achilles' wrath, none could tame,

Lesbos' shores, to cleanse his flame.
