Once hailed as mighty, brave, and free,
A mix of cultures by land and sea,
From east to west, the cries resound,
Of a nation's soul, once lost, not found,
In halls of power, the air grows thin,
With whispered lies and the taste of sin,
The mighty dollar, their only creed,
They kill their brothers, in the name of greed.
The moral compass, once held so dear,
Now spins wildly, caught in fear,
For the dream of a land, where all are seen,
Not by their color, but by their being.
Oh, America, thou art in pain,
Lost in the storm, the wind, the rain,
Oh, America, you wrestle with strife,
Caught in a tempest of your own life.
Reclaim the ethos, the noble quest,
To stand once more amongst the blessed.
America, oh sweet land of mine,
May your star once again, forever shine.
