A world that once revered the mind,

Now scorns the wise, leaves truth behind.

With pompous pride, they mock the sage,

And dance upon our golden age.

The loudest fools with empty crowns,

Lead marching hordes through darkened towns.

The wise are cast as relics old,

While ignorance is bought and sold.

Where stars were charted, maps were drawn,

The tools of thought are trampled on.

In shadow’s grasp, we choose the way,

Where ignorance triumphs day by day.

As banners rise and torches burn,

The foolish laugh, the wise adjourn.

For when the blind lead blind in song,

How far until we see the wrong?

And now we stand at wisdom’s gate,

With all the world left to its fate.

For in a world where wisdom’s spurned,

The final page has now been turned.
